By Ryan McFadden

Ryan was born in Santa Cruz, CA and moved to Sacramento when he was 4. With a parent in each place, he split time between the coast and Central Valley, and this duality still shapes him. By day he manages a team of technical writers; at night and on weekends, he crafts his own narratives, fiction and non. He has an MFA in creative writing from Cal College of the Arts, and he lives in Berkeley with his wife, two-year-old son, and a second son who arrives in April. He has work forthcoming in Reed Magazine; "Nativity" is part of an in-progress collection of short stories, each set someplace on the US West Coast.
